2014 Exhibition – A big final Sunday!

exhibition2

We’re making arrangements to go out in style for the last Sunday (5th October) of our exhibition up in the Sally Mitchell Gallery.  So far we have five RAF veterans confirmed to attend with hopefully more names to follow.  Click here for more details.   I’m flying over with my son Szymek on the morning from Poland so should be at the gallery by 1.30pm.  The Gallery will open from 11am -5pm so if you haven’t already seen the show, why not pop down on the last Sunday and join us.  As it’s the last day, all remaining original prices will be negotiable so there could be bargains to be had!  Just come and negotiate with me to secure an early Christmas present!

New Original

Just three days to go before the opening Sunday of our exhibition.  I’ll be uploading to the website in the next few days all 30 of my originals that will be on display in the show.  Here is a brand new one depicting a DH9 in combat with a Fokker DVII.  Click on the picture for more details;

Flt Lt Don Cheney DFC. RIP

It was with great sadness that I heard yesterday that Don Cheney, the pilot of ‘Dark Victor’ had passed away at his home in Canada last Tuesday at the age of 92.  He had been too ill to attend the commemorative events in Douarnenez but he had approved the painting and had sent his best wishes to all concerned via his daughter Jan.

I always find it fascinating to read what these brave young men did after the war.  Most went on to live varied and adventurous lives and Don was no exception.  There is a lovely obituary here on the following link, I hope you have time to read it.
