The Amiens Raid

Mosquitos of 487 (NZ) Squadron drop the first bombs on Amiens Prison during the famous raid of 18th February 1944.

I painted this in October 2011 to coincide with the launch of our book The Amiens Raid - Secrets Revealed, which reveals the truth behind this spectacular raid. As usual with paintings such as this, each detail is researched to try to form an accurate representation of what happened on the day.
