New Blenheim painting
Just completed this painting, the first piece of cover art for a new series of books, 'Modeller's Photographic Archive'. Each book will cover a specific aircraft type and part one covers the Bristol Blenheim MkI and MkIf.
Bristol Blenheim MkIfs of 25 and 601 Squadrons attacking the seaplane base at Borkum on 28 November 1939. This was the first offensive operation by RAF fighters of WWII. All aircraft returned safely.
This is the original painting for the cover of the first in a new series of books 'Modeller's Photographic Archive' which I've co-authored, published by Red Kite. Each book covers one aircraft type over 96 pages with full page A4 landscape photos and profiles etc. I plan to produce cover paintings for each of the books so this first one should prove to be very collectable.
The Blenheim MkI was fun to research and having looked through the models and published stuff online, there are many misconceptions about its camouflage and markings, especially during the pre-war period. Hopefully our new book will answer a lot of questions for both modellers and artists alike.
The original painting is now for sale via this link;
