The Black Horse over Bamburgh

Spitfires of 72 Squadron roar past Bamburgh Castle on their way back to base at Acklington, June 1941. The aircraft in the foreground, RN-Y P8148 was named 'The Black Horse' in recognition of the fact that it had been purchased for the RAF by the employees of Lloyds Bank during the Battle of Britain.
